dumbo

"the very things that held you down are going to carry you up and up and up!" -- timothy q. mouse

friday was a night of fantastic bliss for me. i ate my favourite meal (spaghetti!) then some delish hallowe'en-themed choco cake. and as i ate the sweet, sweet goodness, i watched, wait for it ...DUMBO! which, in my opinion, is in the top three disney movies of all time (along with every other disney movie ...save for snow white ...) i always forget how absolutely amazing that movie is, and it's supes encouraging, too!
encouraging parts:
-when mrs. jumbo does get her baby
-when casey jr. thinks he can make it over the hill and he does
-when timothy q. mouse and dumbo find out that dumbo can fly
-when dumbo discovers he can fly without the feather
-when dumbo flies into his mother's trunk at the end of the movie
-when the crows sing about puns (there's always a pun to be found and that's always an encouraging upside to life)

anyway, my favourite character, timothy q. mouse, spoke the encourage words i quoted above. dumbo's big ears, the cause of all his pain and sorrows, the things that led to his separation from his mother, ended up being the very things that carried him "up and up and up!"

what's that thing (or what are those things) that hold you down, that make you all self-conscious? how can it/they make you even more awesome than you are now? what are your big ears? use your weakness(es) to carry you up. be a dumbo.
